Old pictures are worth a thousand words, the adage can be multiplied by ten when it comes to moving pictures of a hometown college string team winning a national championship in front of a full sold-out arena of fans brought to their collective feet. Kellan and Carson Johnson of Casper College were the latest to come out of a set that saw many teams fail in Saturday night’s championship round of the College’s National Finals rodeo. Not the pair before them, so the Johnsons must have passed in under seven seconds. Dad and trainer Jhett won the gold medal in the pro rodeo team in 2011. He came out of the lead zone to watch the race and loved every 6.0 seconds. T-Bird’s men, thanks in large part to their team’s success at the lasso, finished third in the college nation for 2020-21.
