Radio City Appoints Alok Barua as Chief Innovation Officer – Digital Transformation

Radio City has appointed Alok Barua as Director of Innovation – Digital Transformation.

Called ‘radigitalisation’, Radio City is focused on bringing its flagship radio shows to audio streaming platforms to further increase radio’s convergence with digital,” the company said.

Alok joins Radio City from Sony Pictures Networks India, where he was Head – Revenue Application (Ad-Sales and Subscription). This is Alok’s second stint with Radio City. Previously, Alok was associated with the radio station as Group CTO, Executive Vice President – Technology. In his new role as Director of Innovation – Digital Transformation, Alok will be responsible for establishing a strong digital business strategy for Radio City and helping to increase digital revenue share. He has a wealth of experience spanning over two decades in large media/broadcast companies, internet security and the digital portal market.

Alok Barua said, “Today’s content consumption has evolved and the screen time spent by consumers on multimedia platforms such as OTT, Reel and social media has also undergone a change. We are entering a world where AR, VR, XR technologies are becoming mainstream.
