The relationship between music and gaming is aging gracefully: a marriage that Pandora celebrates with the launch of a new radio experience.
To commemorate the first anniversary of Pandora’s “Game Time” initiative, the streaming giant has launched a free listening experience called Radio play time. Meticulously curated by gamers, the Music Hub allows users to select songs and beats for the soundtrack of their adrenaline-fueled gaming sessions.
Game Time Radio offers four new listening modes, each offering its own unique ambiance.
“Level UP” focuses on essential hip-hop while “Open World” slips into the ambient and downtempo aisles of electronic music, delivering icy rhythms. “Pixelated” will be most comfortable in the ears of EDM fans with its high energy, festival-centric music.
Pandora has also teamed up with revered dance music taste maker Monstercat for a special takeover, which aligns with the label’s 10th anniversary. The imprint hosts its own curated “Game Time” iteration with a selection of handpicked tracks from their historic catalog, also offering audio commentary from Kaskade, Pixel Terror and other mainstays of the label.
Unveiled in August 2020, “Game Time” is a series of exclusive playlists designed to bring the gaming experience to life through selections of major artists from EDM and contemporary music. These artists, such as Gryffin, Steve Aoki, and The Glitch Mob, are outspoken and determined players.
