WHITE PLAINS, NY, June 16, 2021 / PRNewswire / – The Windward School communications office won a media award among nearly 1,000 entries from schools around the world for Interactive Schools’ School Stories Award.
Celebrating social media storytelling in schools, the School Stories Award awarded Best Dramatic Story to the narration of the Westchester Middle School Drama Club production of The Windward School Lining Podcast. The story tells how the students, led by the president of the theater Betsy hooper, launched the six episodes The understudy podcast amid the global COVID-19 pandemic and how students at Windward have adapted their talents to tell the hilarious and chaotic story of what happens when Cupid accidentally shoots himself with his own arrow and falls out of service for the foreseeable future and a liner is brought in.
One judge commented: “The Drama Club and Ms. Hooper were very creative in overcoming the confines of the lockdown. And what a great storytelling – I was hooked from start to finish! The students played with great confident, learning new skills along the way. And I love that the students who chose not to act still have important roles to play in post-production. All around, amazing work! “
