Morray walks to confessional in touching video for ‘Mistakes’

One of the biggest stars of the year, Morray differentiates itself from the pack with the passion evident in its sharp lyricism and emotional song. In the process of becoming a XXL freshman for 2021, Morray shares the video for Errors“, a highlight of his first album Street sermons. Produced by Dystinkt Beats & SephGotTheWaves, “Mistakes” finds Morray adjusting to his new life as a rap star, showing off his church-trained vocal tracks as he vows to remember where he came from: “Pockets Full of Hundreds, I never thought I could have it / Living my best life, stress free, finally happened / Don’t have to limit the shit, now I’m coping with rap / Eat well, I passed ramen in Wagyu with my salads, ”Morray spits.

Directed by Christian Breslauer, who partnered with Morray for recent videos for I can’t use myself“and Nothing now,The music video for “Mistakes” evocatively illustrates the themes of Morray’s lyrics. Morray begins the video in the confession booth, before sitting down for a conversation with his past, showing him what could change in his life if he works hard and continues. “Mistakes” is the latest in a line of high-quality visuals that began with “Quicksands, recently certified GOLD by the RIAA, which peaked at No. 65 on the Billboard Hot 100 and in the Top 10 on both the US YouTube Music Video Rankings and Urban Radio‘s Broadcast Rankings.

After his meteoric rise which started with “Quicksand” and continued with Street sermons, who debuted at # 41 on the Billboard 200 and helped propel Morray to # 1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artist Chart, Morray secured a place in the coveted XXL First-year student list for 2021. The honor is the latest in a long line of accolades, including one to watch “designations of Complex, Billboard, TURN, Pigeons & Planes, and much more.
