Local First Responders Supporting National Gift of Life Month | KNIA KRLS Radio – The One You Can Count On

































Pella Fire, Ambulance and Police are joining together to recognize National Gift of Life Month by displaying a special flag in front of the Police and Community Ambulance Building.

Former Pella Fire Chief Doug Van Gorkom supported effort encouraging all residents to register as organ donors to help save lives; his wife Susan received a double lung transplant in 2015 and made a full recovery. Van Gorkom shares his story and those of others to remember the impact organ donation can have on someone’s life.

Additionally, the Pella Police Department and Pella Fire Department will have green lights on to recognize the special month. Click here to learn more about becoming an organ donor.
